Once upon a time, families  and tribes would gather around campfires and allow themselves to be transported to other worlds through the voice of a skilled storyteller.  The art of telling stories is a powerful gift, and one that takes many forms, be it the written word in a novel, the voice of actors on a stage, or even on screen in television and movies.

Perhaps the most visceral and engaging form of storytelling, though, is also the oldest – one person simply telling a story to others.
